Sherlock is a genius. He is also manipulative, socially maladjusted, and tactless. Sometimes he doesn’t talk for days on end, and sometimes he talks to a skull. His brother worries about him and tries to hire people to spy on him. His acquaintances think he’s a great man, or a psychopath. He has one friend, John Watson.

Sherlock invented the job of consulting detective in order to keep his mind occupied by solving crimes. Ordinary crimes don’t interest him, but serial killers are like Christmas. He observes and deduces, and he’s usually right.

He’s trying to quit smoking. His nicotine patch addiction is probably at dangerous levels. He also doesn’t eat or sleep while he’s on a job--it’s too distracting. He forgets everyday facts in order to have more room in his mind for the things that really concern him. His kitchen is full of experiments for future use in crime-solving.

He’s most afraid of being bored.
